PTO Recess for the remainder of 2015-2016 school year

Past and Present PTO members:  Formal monthly meetings will not be held the remainder of the 2015-2016 school year.
Current officers will conduct business through June, 2016, including all financial commitments to Tioga Elementary students.
Also, volunteers will still be needed in a variety of ways throughout the rest of the year, including the Book Fair!  You can still help!

Have YOU ever thought about becoming more involved in the leadership of PTO?
Current officer positions for Co-President, Treasurer, and Secretary will be available for election for the upcoming 2016-2017 school year.

What an exciting opportunity for you to get involved and support programs for Tioga Elementary students and teachers.

Please direct any questions you may have about getting involved to Principal Mrs. Kathy Keene at Tioga Elementary.

Thank you to all volunteers for past and present involvement!  It will be time to get back to business in the Fall, 2016!! See you then!

On the GO for the PTO!

You will see this form coming home with your students!

On the go for the PTO!

STUDENTS AND FAMILIES:  The Tioga/Nichols PTO and Mr. Houseknecht from Physical Education are holding an event NEXT WEEK to help support the PTO and emphasize the importance of physical movement and staying healthy through P.E. class! The class that tallies the most running/walking laps during class will win a party!   Won't you help by sponsoring our students' time that they are "on the go" during P.E.                                             for overall health while  supporting the PTO?
Students:  Please ask family, friends and neighbors to sponsor you!  They can sponsor your time with a flat donation written with a check!  ANY amount is appreciated and consider suggesting $1, $5, or more!  Every $1 goes to support programs such as grade level field trips, special assemblies and guests, and other educational needs provided by the PTO!
Please make your check  to the TIOGA/NICHOLS PTO.
*Your cancelled check will be the record of your contribution to the PTO and are tax deductible.*

AUTHOR VISIT a reading success!

THANK YOU to local author Maureen Wright, who shared her love of reading with our students grades PreK-2 on Wednesday, April 8!

ASK your child how it went!  What did they like the best?  Is there interest in her books?
Find out more about her at:

With the return on the Book Fair this year, and as always, bringing an author to Tioga Elementary, PTO continues to focus on the love of reading.  Here is an article (if not connected, just cut and paste) to consider:

Book Fair a SUCCESS!

THANK YOU to all the parent volunteers who helped last week at the Book Fair - every class had help during library special thanks to all of YOU!

We hope that Tioga Elementary can continue this tradition next year, and in years to come!

We had a few parents asking for further title suggestions for little girls - (we will hunt down selections for boys too!).

Here is a great list given to PTO to share with parents for girls!   Happy Reading!
